The Cannoneer Men's Program did just enough to see out a hard fought victory in their season opener. Things all kicked off when Jonny LaFontaine drew a penalty which was calmly converted by Brodie Finnie. Karim Saleh would then go on to make a heroic penalty save to ensure the Cannoneers remained in the lead. From there Finnie returned the Lafontaine favor providing a beautiful assist to a powerful volley from #26. The Cannoneer extended their lead even further with yet another goal from 26 assisted by Jack Rathbun. A number of injuries made for a nail biting finish, especially once HVCC had scored their second goal, but the Cannoneers held on and earned their first victory of the season. They look forward to hosting Broome on Wednesday.
