The Lady Cannoneers traveled to Syracuse for the Lazer Tip-off classic held at Onondaga Community College to take on the 11th ranked Kingsborough Waves. The Cannoneers jumped out to a 22-10 first quarter lead by hitting 4 3-point shots early. Jefferson cooled off in the second but still managed to hold the lead by playing solid defense to take a 31-21 lead into the half. The Wave put on the pressure and closed the gap to 5 points mid-way through the 3rd quarter before the Cannoneers hit 3-3's to take the 52-38 heading into the 4th. Jefferson hit 4-3's in the 4th to cruise to 70-54. Abigail Bombard led the Cannoneers with 20 points and 5 assists, Brooke Wiley added 14 points. Madelyn Ferris had 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
On Sunday, the Cannoneers, faced off with #9 CC of Rhode Island. JCC jumped out to a 14-0 lead and before the Knights responded in the 2nd quarter with 22 points. Jefferson held a 30-28 halftime lead, both teams scored 16 in the 3rd quarter with Maddy Ferris scoring 14 of her 18 points as Jefferson held a 46-44 advantage. With a back-and-forth 4th quarter, the Knights took a 6-point lead with :58 seconds to go. The Lady Cannoneers had a lot of opportunities down the stretch, but the Knights scored the last 7 free throws of the game to secure the 62-51 win. Maddy Ferris led Jefferson with 18 points Layla Killino and Sincerity Diange added 8 points each.
