The Lady Cannoneers Take on the Past Lady Cannoneers
The Jefferson Women's Basketball took on the former Jefferson Women's Basketball Players in the Robert F. Williams Annual Alumni Game.
On Saturday The Lady Cannoneer's took the floor for a match up with the Cannoneers of the past. The Robert F. Williams Alumni Game annually matches the present day Lady Cannoneer's against former Lady Cannoneers, this year the Alumni's roster was made up of former players dating back to 1998! Carrie Mason former 2 time Regional Champion at Jefferson, and Division I transfer to Cansius took the floor alongside, Jessica Blair '05, Deena LaZore '06, Joelle Percey '11, Alicia Uhlein '10, and Jenny Jones '08.
In their first action of the year The Lady Cannoneer's overcame some early nerves, and posted a 76-39 victory over the Alumni. An early sharp shooting display from Kristin McGraw, and Marissa Garland saw the Cannoneers hit 5 early 3 point baskets. Alyssa Crosby and Kathleen Coloney teamed up for their sophomore campaign in the paint. Together Crosby and Coloney totaled 25 points, and 22 rebounds on the evening. McGraw led the team with 17 points on 5 three point field goals. Ten Jefferson players notched at least 1 field goal in a well balanced scoring display! Jefferson Women's Basketball open up their regular season schedule this Saturday at Mohawk Valley Community College against Globe Institute and Technology from the Bronx, NY.
