The Lady Cannoneers Suffer Their First Loss of the Season In Home Opener

Wednesday night at the James McVean Center was opening night for the Jefferson Women's Basketball team, facing familiar foe and Region III opponent Mohawk Valley Community College. Poor shooting nights for both teams saw The Lady Cannoneers drop their first game of the season (4-1). Fighting a sluggish start offensively they found themselves fighting a double digit deficit at halftime. Fighting back to out score Mohawk Valley in the second half, it wasn't enough to overcome the double digit lead the hawks had built in the first. Alyssa Crosby led the way for Jefferson scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, Jasmine Canady chipped in 15 points to go along with 4 steals.
