The Lady Cannoneers Held Shooting Clinic For Young Kids
On Wednesday, November 6th The Jefferson Women's Basketball Program teamed up with Coach Rebecca Sullivan and Ohio St Elementary for a special after school clinic.
Jefferson Women's Basketball Coach Joshua Woodward and some of his players, Jasmine Canady, Kathleen Coloney, Erica Sullivan, Alesha Waterman, Logan Wheeler, Lucy Smoot, and Alyssa Crosby held a clinic yesterday afternoon for 33-2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders from Ohio Street Elementary School, in Watertown, NY.
Coach Woodward and his team worked on teaching the young group the basics such as ball handling, passing, lay-ups and BEEF, balance, eyes, elbow, and follow-through Shooting. Then at the end they played dribble derby.
"I think teaming up with Coach Sullivan and heading over to Ohio St. School with the girls is the best thing our program has done in a long time. Being able to offer the kids the opportunity to hang out and learn from the girls and our staff is something that could make their day. As exciting and encouraging it is for the kids, it's just as if not more beneficial for the girls. To have an opportunity to give back, teach, and work with kids and make them smile is a great thing to do for the community. "-Coach Woodward
