Vaadi To Take Over Role as Jefferson Head Men's Soccer Coach
Jefferson Athletics is pleased to announce that Joseph Vaadi will take over the roll as the Head Coach of the Jefferson Men's Soccer team. He graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a degree in Elementary Education and History in 1988. Joe earned a Masters in Sport Coaching from the United States Sports Academy in 1993.
Joseph has a long standing history in coaching at the Collegiate Level. He began his coaching career at SUNY Potsdam coaching Women's Basketball, where in 1994 he led the Lady Bears to their first and only Conference Championship in school history. In 1993 he was named the District Coach of the Year and was one of the 8 finalists in the country for National Coach of the Year.
Vaadi also coached the SUNY Potsdam Men's Soccer team for 10 years. He led the Bears to the conference playoffs for the first time in over 20 years and was named the 2000 Coach of the Year. Joe's soccer team recorded the most wins in conference play in a season during his tenure.
Joe is currently the head coach of the Jefferson Men's Basketball team and he is looking forward to expanding his coaching resume as the Head Coach for Men's Soccer. "I am really excited for this opportunity to coach soccer once again at the collegiate level. I feel that this will be another challenging chapter in my coaching career and look forward to it." Vaadi
Jefferson is extremely fortunate to have a well-rounded individual to step up to the plate on such short notice and take over the Jefferson Men's Soccer Program. Joe will bring a lot of knowledge and dedication to the Jefferson Athletics Department, the college and the team.
