The Cannoneers opened their season Saturday with a 19–3 road victory over Sussex County Community College. The Men's lacrosse team had seven different players find the back of the net, while their defense held their opponents scoreless in the first half. The Cannoneers controlled possession throughout the game, winning 76% of their draws at the face-off X. Freshman Blake Gregory led the effort, going 14 for 19 consistently give the Cannoneers extra possessions. Gregory also added 3 goals in the contest. Adam Pooler paced the Cannoneer offense with a game-high 3 goals and 6 assists, while Jack Rathbun (So.) delivered dominate performance from the attack position with 6 goals of his own. Andre Tillman (So.) also had a big day offensively, contributing 2 goals and 4 assists. In goal, freshman Damien Perrea made an impressive debut, recording 8 saves while allowing just one goal.
The Men's Lacrosse team returns to action at home Friday when they host Anne Arundel Community College. Faceoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
