The Cannoneers traveled to Onondaga Community College to play in the Onondaga classic this past weekend. The first game would find the Cannoneers playing the Lackawanna Falcons from Scranton, PA. The Cannoneers would come out charged up and find themselves in a dogfight with the Falcons. Things would change after 7 minutes into the game as the Falcons used their athleticism to break down the Cannoneers and forge out to a comfortable lead. The first half would end 50-39 in favor of the Falcons. The second half would see the Cannoneers play determined basketball only to not have enough in the tank to catch up with Lackawanna and fall by the score of 91-74. Leading the way for the Cannoneers was Marcus Castine with 20 points, followed by Brandon Dodge with 17 and Jaydon Koiner with 16 points.
The Cannoneers would get a quick turnaround and make the drive to Syracuse to play early in the morning against the Kingsborough Wave from Brooklyn, NY. It would turn out to be a good day for the Cannoneers as they got their first win of the season. The Cannoneers would put up 60 points in the first half enroute to a 27-point half time lead and cruise to an 83-70 win over the Wave. Leading the way for the Cannoneers were Brandon Dodge with 18 points, followed by Marcus Castin with 16 points, and Marcine Allen-Boutwell with 14 points. Jaydon Koiner( 9points) and Mohamed Magassa ( 8points) would also contribute to the winning cause.
