Cannoneers Gain First Conference Win Against Tompkins-Cortland

Freshman #1 Isiah Murphy vs Mohawk

The Cannoneers would find themselves in a battle as they faced the Panthers of Tompkins Cortland CC on Tuesday night in McVean gymnasium.  Trailing by one at halftime by the score of 37-36, the Cannoneers would rely on their defense to pull out the victory against the Panthers.  The Cannoneers would force the Panthers into 23 turnovers and slowly pull away for the victory in the end.  Once again the balanced scoring attack of the Cannoneers would prove to be the difference as they placed 5 players in double figures again.

Isiah Murphy 16 points/8 assists, Liam Bonk 16 points/11 rebounds and Jalen Stewart 16 points would lead the charge.  Jake Hess and Howard Turner 10 points each would also have a hand in the victory.  The balanced scoring and ability to execute in the latter stages of the game would give the Cannoneers a 81-72 victory over the Panthers and gain their first confernec win of the season.
