Jefferson Golf Hosts Jefferson Invitational
Jefferson Golf held their home Golf Tournament
The Cannoneer golf team had a three-day weekend while hosting their home tournament at Highland Meadows on Friday. The Cannoneers took 4th place out of seven teams with a team score of 318. The team was led by returning sophomores Carson Barrett and Tanner Esposito. Barrett finished the day with an impressive score of a 73 placing him tied for 4th and earning him MSAC medalist. Esposito finished his round shooting a 77 placing him tied for 10th. Esposito also received MSAC honors with his great play.
Saturday the Cannoneers traveled to Herkimer for the Generals Invitational. Carson Barrett led the Cannoneers with a score of a 79. Barrett finished just inside the top 10 being tied for 9th with multiple other players for the region.
On Sunday, the Cannoneers played at Oneida Golf Club for the Mohawk Valley Invitational. The team finished in 2nd place out of all the region 3 teams with a team score of 333. Christian Summers played a very steady round shooting an 80 leading the Cannoneers to their 2nd place finish.
The Cannoneers head to Jamestown next weekend for the Region 3 Championship. They will play on Sunday 5/10 and Monday 5/11 for a chance to make the NJCAA Golf National Tournament.
