Cannoneers Battle Hard but Fall to Fairfield in AAU National Tournament
Jefferson Hockey fall to Fairfield in Nationals.
The Jefferson Cannoneers put up a determined effort but ultimately fell 5–2 to Fairfield University in the AAU National Championship Tournament. Jefferson opened the scoring when Nathan VanWie found the back of the net off a setup from Drew Blevins. Later in the game, Mason Savage added another Cannoneers goal, assisted by Tyler Sovie. In goal, Presley Patrin turned in a strong performance despite the loss, stopping 50 shots and keeping Jefferson within reach throughout the contest.
The Cannoneers showed resilience against a tough Fairfield squad and will look to regroup as they continue play in the national tournament. Next up for Jefferson, they will face Canisius University at 8:00 am on Friday.
