Jefferson Hockey Defeats University of Albany
Jefferson Hockey improved their overall record to 11-3 with a win against the University of Albany
On Saturday, November 15, 2025, the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers hockey team hit the road to face the University of Albany at their home rink, the Albany County Ice Center. The Cannoneers battled hard and came away with a thrilling 3–2 victory, improving their season record to 11 wins and 3 losses. The Cannoneers came out strong in the first period, striking early with a goal just minutes into the game from freshman Tyler Sovie. Midway through the period, sophomore Owen Ebersol added another tally to give Jefferson their second goal of the night. However, the University of Albany Great Danes fought back, eventually tying the game at 2–2 as time wound down in the third period. With overtime looming, freshman Mason Savage delivered the game winner a perfect wrist shot from the right side that went bar-down to seal the 3–2 win. In net, freshman Avery Zenger stood tall all night, continuing his undefeated season with his seventh win. It was a complete team effort, with every Cannoneer contributing to this crucial victory. Next up, the Cannoneers are scheduled to take on SUNY Canton on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
