The Cannoneers first away series of the season last Sunday versus conference rival Onondaga Community College saw a huge first season win. This win was Coach Parisi's first as Head Coach since taking over the program. OCC would start the game off scoring 1 run in each of the 3 innings of play until the Cannoneers came back scoring 1 in the 3rd and 3 in the 5th. Kyle Peterson had his first career start of his career at JCC after transferring from Felician University. Peterson went on to pitch 6 innings allowing only 5 hits, 3 runs, and 7 strikeouts. Ryan Murnane recorded 3 hits and 2 rbis alongside Nick Spivey and Oiram Williams. Nate Eccleston would come into to close the game in the 7th inning allowing no runs and securing the victory.
Game 2 of the double header showed the Cannoneers scoring early with 3 runs in the first 2 innings of play. Jake Bandley started the game for the Cannoneers and pitched 2 innings with quality stuff. After finding himself in a bit of trouble after allowing 4 runs through 3 innings, Brady Parker and Bryce Fordemwalt would come in relief and keep the Lazers at bay. Parker allowed only 2 hits, 2 runs at strike out while Fordemwalt allowed only 1 hit no runs and 1 strikeout. The Cannoneer bats rallied in the 5th inning producing 4 runs with Braiden Bley having a good day at the plate recording 2 hits and 2rbis. The Cannoneers would ultimately fall by a score of 10-7. The Cannoneers are back at home for their first home series of the season against the Herkimer Generals on Saturday March 28th.
