The Cannoneer Cross Country team rounded up their season with strong individual performances at the NJCAA DIII National Cross Country Championship Meet this past Saturday held in Holyoke, MA. This year's national race was the largest and fastest race to date. Edward Goodall, a welcome addition to the team from the Cannoneer men's soccer team, and Ethan Vincent, a natural leader on the team all season, went out strong in a very fast national race going through the first mile in 5:25 and 5:30 respectively. They were followed by Ryan Cadwell passing the mile marker in 5:50, all three getting out faster than they have gone out all season! Their hard work all season paid off as they ran strong through the middle part of the race, the pace got to them a little in the later part of the race but they all put it together to finish strong and tough at the end of the race. Ed's and Ethan's time place them 1st and 4th on the all-time Cannoneer list and Ryan's time makes him the 6th fastest runner in Cannoneer history.
In the women's race Margeaux Simmons went out strong as well and ran steady through the middle part of the race. She worked the uphill section well and stayed steady and strong in the later part of the race. Margeaux's strong race gave her a personal best on the year and places her 10th on a very strong women's top 20 list for lady Cannoneer runners.
