The Cannoneers put in one of their best efforts of the young season, only to come up on the short end of a 74-62 loss to the nationally ranked Generals. The Cannoneers have shown steady improvement in the last few weeks and it was on display versus the Generals Thursday night.
The first half was a back and forth battle as the Cannoneers would take a one-point lead at 34-33. The second half would be close until the final few minutes as the Generals would slowly pull away for the final margin of victory. Some costly turnovers in the final stages of the game would be the demise of the Cannoneers.
Leading the way for the Cannoneers were Tymire Riddick with 13 points and Jatique Jenkins-Fredericks with 10 points. Also contributing to the Cannoneer cause were Elijah Smalls with 9 points, as well as Liam Bonk with 6 points and 11 rebounds. Next up for the Cannoneers is Columbia-Greene at 3 pm Saturday.
